The Outpost
The Outpost’s composition will be left without prescription. As a reaction to what already exists we aimed to create synergy between the interior and exterior, while creating a juxtaposition of communal and individual repose.
Overview: The Outpost surrenders to the rhythm of the landscape and presents itself as a stronghold against the extremes of the changing climate of southern Idaho. It was created out of respect for its surroundings, mirroring the simplicity of an uncrowded landscape. The Outpost’s structure and integrity are what define the space now, and what drive the vision for its interior environment. A continuation of what exists will summon a creative and mindful approach.
Concept: It is a rethinking of domestic space. It is not an ideal, but a tool for reflection and creation. The freedom to choose one’s environment will reveal where events have taken place and suggest possibilities for future arrangements.
